What exactly is in your soaps?
Our soaps are crafted using high-quality, natural ingredients sourced from reputable and often local suppliers. The base soap recipe includes olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter, as well as botanicals like Cottonwood bud resin and dried orange peel. Allergen-tested fragrance oils and essential oils are used to keep you smelling fresh after days in the bush. If you want the full breakdown, check each product page for a complete ingredient list.
I'm allergic to a few things, how should I pick a soap?
At Wayward & Wild, all of our soaps are handmade in small batches using natural oils, butters, essential oils, clays, botanicals, and other plant-based ingredients. While we take care to list every ingredient clearly, please note:
If you have allergies or sensitivities — especially to nuts, botanicals, essential oils, or natural colorants — we strongly recommend reviewing the full ingredient list before use.
Our soaps are made in a shared workspace that handles ingredients like:
- Coconut oil
- Shea butter
- Olive Oil
- Essential oils (including citrus, mint, and spice oils)
- Botanicals (including assorted herbs and flowers)
We cannot guarantee that any product is free from cross-contact with allergens. If you’re unsure about a particular ingredient, feel free to reach out before ordering. We’re always happy to walk you through what’s in a bar.
As with all skincare, we recommend performing a patch test before first use — especially if you have sensitive skin or known allergies.
Are the soaps colored with dyes or micas?
No! We pride ourselves on using only natural colors derived from botanical sources. Any colorants used are from plant-based sources, herbal infusions, or clays.
How should I store my soap between uses?
Keep it dry! A well-ventilated soap dish or a hanging scrub bag by your fire or faucet will extend the life of your bar. If you stash it in a damp dish or baggy, it’ll turn into a sad, soggy puck.
How long will a bar last on the trail (or at home)?
On average, 4–6 weeks with daily use at home, and up to 2 weeks of back-to-back trail washes if you hang it properly. Denser bars like Pine Patchouli can go even longer.
When will my order ship out?
All orders will go out within a week! I usually pack all my orders one day a week.

When will I get my order?
Orders are shipped from rural Michigan where weather can be inclement. After receiving your *shipped* status email, please allow 1-2 weeks if you are ordering from the states.
I am not shipping to Canada or internationally at this time. (sorry! shipping is such a pain - thank you for your patience!)
If you have waited the proper wait time above and you believe your order is missing, please reach out via email, and I'll do my best to figure it out!
I didn't get an order confirmation email?
Please check your junk folder! Sometimes they get stuck there. If it’s still lost, you can email me and I will try to find it for you!
Do you accept returns, cancellations, or exchanges?
Unfortunately, not — please place your orders mindfully as I do not generally allow cancellations, exchanges, or returns. Thank you for understanding!
My Package is damaged or missing!
If your order was damaged in transit, please let me know via email and I will try to work out a solution with you. I do everything I can to pack all of my orders carefully, but unfortunately, once I ship off orders they are out of my control.
If it has been longer than the shipping times listed above (see: “when will my order arrive?” question) and you believe your package is missing, you can reach out to me via email and we can try to sort something out. Missing packages usually make their way back to me.
I am missing something from my order!
So sorry! Sometimes I can make mistakes while packing, please send me an email and I’ll be sure to ship out your missing items as soon as I can.
What kind of fees or taxes will be on my package?
Depending on where you are ordering to, you may have additional fees/taxes on your order that you will need to pay in order to receive it.
Any additional taxes/fees are the responsibility of the customer and are not covered by my product costs/shipping fees. If you do not pay the fees, your order will be returned to me and you will be refunded, minus the original shipping costs.
